Sushi Mike and Sushiman

Sushi Mike is a Legend in his own time. There are not too many American sushi chefs and those that make the grade usually have an interesting story . . . Sushi Mike grew up in Melbourne FLorida and lived in his parent's home with a revolving door and lots of foster kids - high risk ones -

At age 16 Sushi Mike got a job washing dishes in a sushi restaurant in Melbourne . . he was industrious and was selected for further training . . . helping in the kitchen with appetizers and more, learning along the way. When the owners wanted him to learn the table (where you cook on the grill for your customers, Mike begged off, besides being too hot the table was even with his crotch and he was afraid of burning his body and destroying his sperm.

Touching Down in Orlando

Got to Orlando last Wednesday Night . . .

My good friend The Mayor - picked me up at the airport - we headed for the Mansion and changed/showered and headed out for the Vines on Sand Lake Road . . . It wasn't sushi . . . but it was great. A couple of bottles of wine later and a nightcap of a special rum (tasted like cognac) . . .

A great jazz trio featuring Bernie Lee - a New Orleans veteran - on bass - Wednesday nites and weekends.

The weather down here i s great and next I'll fill you in on my Interview with Sushi Mike and our trio with The Mayor to Sushiman . . . Stay tuned.
