Back in Time - Sushi on the Rock

Dateline: Encinitas, California, Sunday January 23rd

The West is Best . . . I gotta say - - - I love California --- especially the Garden Paradise of the USA --- Encinitas - -- - yeah yeah yeah !!!!

Went out to eat Sushi after the calls and was joined by Steve and Kim -- yay -- and Mr. Wetzel and Corrine and the simply sublime Rachel Williams and her footloose and crazy man/child in a Promised Land Friend and (lover) Willie san aka Kid Power . . . .

and it was fun . ..

Back to the Scene of the Crime

On the last Sunday in January (with a welcome reprieve from the cold for the local NY'ers) I journeyed into the Big Apple for Sushi Dinner with my kidlings . . Back to Miyagi's . . .
Green Tea for the young ladies while we wait for the Couple of the Moment . . plus miso soup - then L & J arrive and its hugs all around.
Danster just back from Viet Nam and showering gifts among her family members - of her stories the one about seeing tunnels that were too small for her to crawl in where people lived for weeks even months at a time. She gave me a Zippo she purchased in Viet Nam and her sister receive a conical hat. Coming the other way were gifts from Mexico - earrings and scrafs most colorful.
Going Back in Time to Dreams of Sushi Bars and Friends Across America - - - The commentary over dinner went to how I had not been very responsible updating my Blog and as a New February Resolution I will Do Better . . .
Last night after Miso Soup we enjoyed gomae - spinach - and agedashi tofu (and I heard a meat eater describe tofu as bland and obviously missed the point, but unlike 30 years ago I feel no compulsion to correct the boy and i let him comment away)
Then a Miyagi roll, unagi, yellowtail and spicy tuna, spyder roll followed by a second course of spicy scallops and another roll hardly remembered.
