RuSan's With Bob and Vicky aka Ginger

Twas the nite before Valentine's Day and we all went out
For sushi at Rusan's and fun no doubt
Ru wasn't there but the crew was alive
With Visions of uni i couldn't wait to arrive

First there was unagi and miso soup
the white tuna flashfried threw me for a loop
All of the noise and all of the clatter
After some beer it just didn't matter

There was toro and hamachi and twice baked salmon
there was Napoleon Sashimi and no sign of famine
We ate and we ate until we could eat no more
Then paid up our bill and went out the door

and the voices all rose as if they were one
and we knew somehow it would never be done
Domo domo Arigato to all
and remember that pride comes before every fall

Happy Sushi!!!!!
Atlanta, GA

Takahashi, Amura, the Superbowl and the Yankees

I love all you guys . . . I want you to know that.
I love that there is among us at some level a true unconditional love . . . like after the Miyagi's trip on daniDanger's b-day and the NY Yankees Third, but not Final Loss . . . we were able to make up and let go of the past and once again eat sushi 2gether at Miyagi's (and other places)

Jess and Danster --- loved yr comments on the last post - - -

I was turned onto Takahasi by a mysterious female whose identity I am not at liberty to reveal ( how's that for mystery? And you guys thought Sushi Mike was a Figment of My Imagination . . . didn't you?)

As some of you know (all too well) Sushi Mike is a living breathing (retired) Sushi Chef from Melbourne, Florida . . .

Takahashi is a must . . . if you are hitting the NY Sushi market. In fact I predict that it will become a late night hang out for my daughters if they stay in the Big Apple for more than two more years . . .

It's on Avenue A between 5th and 6th - West side of the street -- middle of the block---- Warning: Be nice to the people who work there or me and the Danster are gonna kick your ass!!!!

Part Two: Amura

I've been back to Amura a few times since the last update - - with Sushi Mike and Mr. Erdlee ---- we had one really unfortunate incident - - - it was weird and a little sad . . .

When we arrived - me and Sushi Mike, Alan was on the phone and lagging behind. There was a filled out sushi order - you know where you write out your order by checking boxes - and there were about twelve rolls checked off. Well . . . I gave it to the server (as Alan approached) and told him that this was already here and it's not our order. He looked me in the eye the entire time and I truly assumed he knew what I said when he nodded and smiled and gave me a new sheet of paper ---- but he did not --- and he placed that order and all this stuff came to us about fifteen minutes later and we had to tell them it wasn't what we had ordered. ther ewere some bad feelings and I think that guy caught some serious flack . . . but I was very clear and he pretty much didn't understand the language enuff (I'm shaw it wasn't my New Yawk accent)

After a wonderful visit w/my mom and dad on SuperBowl Sunday - -- a day after Diamond Jim's Jack Benny birthday --- Luke, Jeanhee and I stopped and loaded up on Japanese/Korean food @ Amura's and headed back to Solitaire Court for the Super Bowl . . .

Now Boston/New England rocked the deal - - - isn't it interesting how many times in history a specific city/area produces more then one Sports Championship in the same year . . . My favorite of all time has to be 1969 - when Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Nolan Ryan (rookie year?) Ed Kranepool, Jerry Grote, Ron Swoboda, Tommy Agee, Phil Linz {just wanted to see if you were paying attention} and then the AFL's New york Jets led by Joe Willie Namath - to this day my favorite football player of all time - and my favorite game until it went off the air was the Jet-Raider Shootout between Joe Namath and Darryl LaMonica (?) Am I right? (The Heidi Game)

Anyway, that brings me to the close of this piece (my longest yet I'm sure) I said all of that to say all of this: Let's Go YANKEES!!!!

I am most excited to have Tino Martinez back in the line-up. I love Bernie, but I think he's lost two steps in the outfield and it's time to find someone younger who can make the throw to the plate. (There - I said it)

I like the beefed up pitching staff and I think this upcoming Season is GOing to Be a Fantastic Season with the Continuing Saga of the Yankees vs. The Red Sox - - - Everyone's invited to watch Opening Night (Schilling vs. The Big Unit) with me at Mantle's in OK City ( the bar in Bricktown owned by Mick's family.)

TOMORROW: I'm Going to RuSan's/fun, fun , fun (till my Daddy takes my T-Bird away)
